Superman – Man of Steel
This is by far is my top most favorite fictional superhero in the world of DC Universe. Superman originally published by DC Comics written by Jerry Siegel and the artist by Joe Shuster in 1993. Superman made it’s first debut in “Action Comics #1” in June 1938 and from then on it started appearing in radios, newspaper, television, movies and video games. With that, Superman established its dominance in the business of American Comic Book.
Superman’s distinct appearance is very strong and iconic. His costume is mixed with red and blue colors with the big letter ‘S’ on his chest which means ‘hope’. Superman was born in the name ‘Kal-El’ on the planet Krypton. When Superman transported to planet Earth, he was adopted by a farmer in Kansas City, USA. Later on named Clark Kent. As he grew and learned to adapt in the new environment, he started to discover his superhuman abilities. He decided to keep a low profile and use it for the benefit of humanity. Superman’s jurisdiction is in Metropolis. As his new name Clark Kent, he is a journalist that works for the Daily Planet. Coincidentally, Lois Lane, Superman’s love interest – also works in the same company. Superman’s archenemy is Lex Luthor. He is also created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. He first appeared in Superman #4 and became archenemy from then on.
Superman was born in planet Krypton. His team affiliations are; Justice League and Legion of Super-Hereos. He teamed up with Batman, Wonder Woman, Krypto, Supergirl, Green Lantern, and Flash. Superman’s power is coming from the Yellow Sun. He absorbs the sun’s radiation like a battery and uses it at his advantage. With the abundance of sun’s rays on planet Earth, he is almost like a God where he can move like a speed of light, shoot a laser beam in his eyes, Breath cold air from his mouth, he can lift almost anything with his superhuman strength, longevity of life as he continuously nourishes the yellow sun and a lot more. With this God like power and strength. He on the other hand has a weaknesses; Kryptonite rock – this can bring him to his knees and leave him vulnerable to attack. Superman is also vulnerable to Magic attacks like Aquman’s Trident and Wonder Woman’s sword any weapons that are imbued with magics can harm him. Other ways that can harm him is the red radiation coming from the sun, various colored Kryptonite stones, Nukes and Supersonic Sound waves.
